TO BENEFIT THE PUBLIC THROUGH GRANTS TO ORGANIZATIONS THAT WILL HELP:- SUPPORT RESEARCH INTO THE CAUSES OF, TREATMENT FOR, AND PREVENTION OF OCCUPATIONAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DISEASES;- INCREASE AND IMPROVE PUBLIC AWARENESS ABOUT WORK-PLACE HEALTH AND SAFETY, AND PUBLIC HEALTH;- ENHANCE ACCESS TO, PARTICIPATION IN, AND EDUCATION ABOUT THE LEGAL SYSTEM AND GOVERNMENT PROCESSES;- ADVANCE PROGRAMS THAT PROVIDE SERVICES WHICH LESSEN THE BURDENS OF GOVERNMENT AND/OR PROVIDE FOR INDIVIDUAL AND COMMUNITY EDUCATION AND SELF-SUFFICIENCY;- PROVIDE RELIEF FOR THE POOR, DISTRESSED OR UNDERPRIVILEGED;- DEFEND HUMAN AND CIVIL RIGHTS SECURED BY LAW;- COMBAT COMMUNITY DETERIORATION AND LESSEN NEIGHBORHOOD TENSIONS.
