Mission
THE ORGANIZATION HAD A HEAVY EMPHASIS ON EVALUATING THE STRUCTURAL SOUNDNESS OF THE WORKING REPORDUCTION OF THE SR-71 BLACKBIRD AIRCRAFT. THE FOUNDATION WAS NOT ABLE TO VERIFY ORGUARANTEE THE SAFETY OR THE STRUCTURAL SOUNDNESS OF THE AIRCRAFT WITHOUT A HUGE COST INCREASE TO THE PROJECT. THE DECISION WAS MADE TO ABANDON THE PROJECT AND CLOSE THE FOUNDATION.THE FOUNDATION WAS ALSO IN THE PROCESS OF COMPILING PHOTOS, WRITTEN AND ORAL HISTORIES TO DOCUMENT THE HISTORY OF THIS UNIQUE AIRCRAFT.
