THE PURPOSE OF THE TRUST IS TO IMPROVE COMMUNICATION BETWEEN REPRESENTATIVES OF LABOR AND MANAGEMENT IN THE INDUSTRY; PRESERVE, IDENTIFY AND EXPAND WORK OPPORTUNITIES; PROMOTE EFFICIENCY IN OPERATIONS AND THE ECONOMIC COMPETITIVENESS; PROMOTE THE ESTABLISHMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF QUALITY TRAINING PROGRAMS; ESTABLISH AND MAINTAIN MECHANISMS FOR MONITORING AND ENFORCING COMPLIANCE WITH FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL LAWS, RULES, REGULATIONS AND STANDARDS; AND AWARD GRANTS TO ELIGIBLE EMPLOYERS WHO COLLECTIVELY BARGAIN WITH THE UNION.
