Mission
SAGE PATIENT ADVOCATES SUPPORTS PATIENTS IN THEIR BATTLE WITH SERIOUS ILLNESS. ALTHOUGH WE DO NOT PROVIDE MEDICAL ADVICE, SAGE MAY HELP A PATIENT IDENTIFY PHYSICIANS, GENETIC/PERSONALIZED MEDICINE EXPERTS TO CONSULT WITH AND OFTEN, WE ASSIST THE PATIENT SECURE APPOINTMENTS WITH THOSE PROFESSIONALS. WE OFTEN HELP THE PATIENT FORMULATE QUESTIONS FOR THE PATIENT'S MEDICAL ADVISORS, AND WE ALSO MAY ATTEND CONSULTATIONS WITH THE PATIENT, IN PERSON, BY PHONE OR TELEMEDICINE CONSULTS.SAGE'S PHILOSOPHY IS THAT A SECOND OPINION OR EVEN MULTIPLE SECOND OPINIONS, MAY BE BENEFIDCIAL TO THE PATIIENT. WE ALSO ENCOURAGE PATIENTS TO BECOME MORE KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT AND CONSIDER SUPPORTIVE CARE SERVICES, IF APPROPRIATE.
