Mission
THE BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA WAS FOUNDED IN 1910 AND IT IS THE MISSION OF THE OZARK TRAILS COUNCIL, BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA TO SERVE OTHERS BY HELPING TO INSTILL VALUES IN YOUNG PEOPLE AND PREPARE THEM TO MAKE ETHICAL CHOICES DURING THEIR LIFETIMES AND ACHIEVE THEIR FULL POTENTIAL. OUR MISSION STATEMENT IS FOUNDED ON THE PRINCIPLES OF THE SCOUT OATH AND LAW. THE SCOUT OATH: ON MY HONOR, I WILL DO MY BEST TO DO MY DUTY TO GOD AND MY COUNTRY AND TO OBEY THE SCOUT LAW; TO HELP OTHER PEOPLE AT ALL TIMES; TO KEEP MYSELF PHYSICALLY STRONG, MENTALLY AWARE, AND MORALLY STRAIGHT. THE SCOUT LAW: A SCOUT IS TRUSTWORTHY, LOYAL, HELPFUL, FRIENDLY, COURTEOUS, KIND, OBEDIENT, CHEERFUL, THRIFTY, BRAVE, CLEAN AND REVERENT. COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATIONS RECEIVE NATIONAL CHARTERS TO USE THE SCOUTING PROGRAM AS PART OF THEIR OWN YOUTH WORK IN THE OZARK TRAILS COUNCIL. THESE 112 CHARTER GROUPS HAVE GOALS COMPATIBLE WITH THOSE OF THE BSA AND INCLUDE RELIGIOUS, EDUCATIONAL, CIVIC, FRATERNAL, BUSINESS AND LABOR GR
