UNIVERSITY HOSPITALS (THE "SYSTEM") IS GUIDED BY ITS MISSION "TO HEAL. TO TEACH. TO DISCOVER." THE SYSTEM SERVES A UNIQUE ROLE IN THE COMMUNITIES IT SERVES BY PROVIDING DIVERSE POPULATIONS THROUGHOUT THE NORTHEAST OHIO REGION WITH COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH CARE - FROM PRIMARY CARE TO HIGHLY SPECIALIZED MEDICAL CARE FOR THE MOST SERIOUS OF HEALTH PROBLEMS. THE SYSTEM IS KNOWN FOR PROVIDING SUPERIOR, LEADING-EDGE HEALTH CARE ACROSS THE FULL RANGE OF MEDICAL AND SURGICAL SPECIALITIES FROM INFANCY TO ELDER CARE. IN ADDITION TO DELIVERING QUALITY PATIENT CARE, THE SYSTEM SERVES AS A PREEMINENT TEACHING FACILITY FOR PHYSICIANS, NURSES AND ANCILLARY MEDICAL PERSONNEL. THE SYSTEM'S EXTENSIVE CLINICAL RESEARCH PROGRAMS CONTINUE TO IMPROVE THE UNDERSTANDING OF DISEASE AND ENHANCE PATIENT CARE.
