TO PROTECT THE SAFETY OF THE CITIZENS OF THE COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS BY PROMOTING UNIFORM ENFORCEMENT OF ALL STATE LAWS AND REGULATIONS, AND ALL LOCAL BY-LAWS OR ORDINANCES, RELATING TO, OR REGULATING THE USE, CONSTRUCTION, OR INSPECTION OF BUILDINGS AND OTHER STRUCTURES; TO ENCOURAGE AND PROVIDE A FORUM FOR THE FREE EXCHANGE OF IDEAS AND INFORMATION AMONG ITS MEMBERS; TO THE BUILDING TRADES, TO PROMOTE SAFE AND SOUND METHODS OF CONSTRUCTION; AND TO ENCOURAGE MUTUAL ASSISTANCE, FRIENDLY COOPERATION, AND HARMONY AMONG ITS MEMBERS.
