CHILDREN'S HUNGER ALLIANCE IS A STATEWIDE NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION FOUNDED IN 1970 THAT IS DEDICATED TO ENSURING CHILDREN WITHOUT ACCESS RECEIVE HEALTHY FOOD, NUTRITION EDUCATION AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY. THE ORGANIZATION DOES THIS BY WORKING DIRECTLY WITH CHILDCARE PROVIDERS AND AFTERSCHOOL SITES TO SERVE NUTRITIOUS MEALS AND SNACKS, INCREASING ACCESS TO HEALTHY FOOD AT SCHOOLS AND SUMMER MEAL SITES AND PROMOTING HEALTHY EATING HABITS AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES. THE ORGANIZATION WORKS DIRECTLY WITH SCHOOLS, CHILD CARE PROVIDERS, YOUTH-SERVING ORGANIZATION AS WELL AS ELECTED OFFICIALS AND OTHER POLICY MAKERS, BUSINESSES AND INDIVIDUALS TO ADVANCE ITS MISSION.
