THE PURPOSE OF THE MILNER AWARD, INC. IS TO FOSTER IN CHILDREN A LIFELONG LOVE OF READING. IN 2023, 1871 THIRD GRADE STUDENTS AT TEN TITLE I ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS IN THE ATLANTA AREA PARTICIPATED IN MILNER AWARD ACTIVITIES IMPLEMENTED WITH ANOTHER NONPROFIT, PAGE TURNERS MAKE GREAT LEARNERS. STUDENTS READ AND DISCUSSED THE BOOKS IN THEIR CLASSROOMS, THEN CAST THEIR VOTE FOR THEIR FAVORITE AUTHOR THROUGH THE MILNER READ2VOTE CAMPAIGN AT THE END OF THE ACADEMIC YEAR. STUDENTS PARTICIPATED IN THE AWARDS CEREMONY, READING TO THE WINNING AUTHOR THEIR OWN WORDS DESCRIBING THEIR REACTIONS TO THE AUTHOR'S BOOKS.
