Mission

THE TRAIN FOUNDATION SPONSORS THE CIVIL COURAGE PRIZE FOR STEADFAST RESISTANCE TO EVIL AT GREAT PERSONAL RISK. THE PRIZE OF $25,000 IS AWARDED ANNUALLY BY THE TRUSTEES OF THE TRAIN FOUNDATION AT AN EVENT, AFTER A WORLDWIDE CALL FOR NOMINATIONS, AND PARTICIPATION BY THE ADVISORS IN WINNOWING THE CANDIDATES. THERE ARE RELATED, TWICE ANNUALLY DISTRIBUTED, NEWSLETTERS AND THE WORK OF A PUBLICIST. THE SERVICES REQUIRED TO DO THIS ARE PAID FOR BY THE FOUNDATION. BY INCREASING AWARENESS OF CIVIL COURAGE, THE FUND'S TRUSTEES HOPE TO ENCOURAGE THAT VIRTUE.
